What is the curfew for teen drivers in Maine?

My niece is going to get her license soon, and I’m awfully proud. I taught her everything she knows. As her legal guardian, I just want to ensure that she’s not driving too late at night. Does Maine have a curfew for teen drivers?

As your niece’s legal guardian, it’s natural to be concerned about her safety, driving or otherwise. The curfew for teen drivers in
Maine
is from midnight to 5 a.m.
However, this curfew is only effective for the first 270 days she has her license.
Another restriction that might put you at ease is that she also can’t have more than one passenger in the car between the hours of 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. This will limit distractions so she’s more likely to concentrate on the road.
At the age of 16 years and 9 months, your teen can apply for an unrestricted license, which would lift all curfews and passenger constraints. Brace yourself—or create restrictions of your own if need be, at least until she gains experience and proves she’s responsible.
You can also put your mind at ease by making sure your niece has great car insurance. The
