I’ve always wanted to own a BMW Z4, but I don’t really have the budget to buy a new one. As such, I think I’m going to let someone else eat the cost of depreciation and get a used one at a discount. What’s the best used BMW Z4 model year?

buy a used car
. One distinction you should make is which generation of the BMW Z4 you want to buy. The Z4 has three different generations, so depending on your needs and budget, here are the best years for a used BMW Z4 per each generation:- First generation (2003 to 2008): The 2004 model is the only Z4 that doesn’t have any major issues. All of the other years of the first generation are prone to expensive repairs—and with higher mileage, you’re likely to pay more to repair the vehicle than the car is worth.
- Second generation (2009 to 2016): The second generation of the Z4 worked out many of the kinks. Aside from the 2016 model, most of these are reliable and fun to drive.
- Third generation: (2018 to present): The latest generation doesn’t have any known issues, so you can choose any of them based on your budget.
