What is the 2015 Toyota Highlander’s oil capacity?

I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander and I love being hands on with my car. One DIY project I want to try is changing my own oil, but I don’t know how much oil my Highlander takes. How much oil does a 2015 Toyota Highlander need?

Congratulations in advance for tackling an oil change yourself, and it’s true that DIY projects can sometimes be confusing if you’ve never done them before yourself.
The first thing to know is which engine your
Toyota Highlander
has, as this affects the amount of engine oil you will need. Here are the two engine options, along with the amount of oil needed for both:
  • A 2.7 liter engine needs 4.6 quarts of oil
  • A 3.5 liter engine needs 6.4 quarts of oil
It’s important to make sure you have enough new engine oil on hand before you drain the old oil, as you will not be able to safely drive your Highlander until it is properly topped off.
Toyota recommends that you refill your Highlander with SAE 0W-20 synthetic motor oil, which will best maintain the engine and keep your car
on the road
where it belongs.
DIY maintenance can save you a lot of money over time, along with having the right car insurance.
