What is the 2008 Nissan Maxima oil type?

My mother has a 2008 Nissan Maxima and refuses to take it to the mechanic for oil changes because it’s spending unnecessary money. My dad doesn't want to do them anymore, so I said I would—what kind of oil do I need to buy?

That’s nice that you’re helping your family out with car maintenance! The 2008
Nissan Maxima
requires a 5W-30 viscosity oil type like Mobil 1 - Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil. While you can use conventional oil in your Maxima, synthetic oils improve engine performance and require less frequent oil changes.
In addition to an oil change, here are some other areas to check on your Maxima:
  • Power steering and fluid levels
  • Exhaust system
  • Battery, exterior lamps, and horn operation
  • Turn signals and hazard warning lights
  • Tire wear and tear
  • Engine oil and filter
  • Wipers and washer fluid levels
  • Suspension
  • Steering linkage
Staying on top of regular maintenance is essential, but it can be expensive. However, when you shop for car insurance with
