What is the 2004 GMC Envoy’s oil type?

I just bought a used GMC Envoy for my son and I want to teach him how to change his own oil, but I don’t know what oil it requires. What is the 2004 GMC Envoy’s oil type?

It’s wonderful that you’re teaching your son to be self-reliant with basic maintenance skills! The 2004
GMC Envoy
SUV requires fully synthetic 5W-30 motor oil.
The 2004 GMC Envoy came standard with a 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine for both SEL and SLT trim levels. The motor oil capacity is seven quarts with the filter—to keep your SUV running smoothly you’ll need to change the oil out every 7,500 miles or about every 12 months. But it’s always a good idea to check your GMC Owner’s Manual to make sure you know your 2004 Envoy’s engine size.
Teaching your child how to perform an oil change is a great bonding experience. As a bonus, you’ll also save money on labor costs! If you’re looking to save even more on car-related expenses, you should give
