What do I need to consider when shopping for car insurance?

I have full coverage now but my insurance cost seems high. Other than cost, what else should I consider when switching companies?

  • Are you looking for a company that is easy to do business with?
  • Are you looking for a company with a good reputation for handling claims quickly and fairly?
  • Do you have a unique situation that would require specialized insurance?
Insurance is very regulated, so your experience isn’t going to be that different from company to company, except for who you interact with and how you interact with them. For this type of information, check online customer reviews and look up the customer satisfaction ratings with J.D. Power.”
