To avoid paying a penalty or getting a ticket for expired tags, be sure to renew your tags within 90 days (approximately three months) before the expiration. office are:- Valid Ohio driver’s license or State of Ohio ID card
- Lease agreement and power of attorney documents if you’re leasing the vehicle
- E-Checkdocument if required
Once you’ve collected the appropriate forms, you’re ready to renew your tags. If they’ve been expired for 30 days or more, expect to pay a $10 late fee in addition to submitting the above documents.
