Is there a good rental car alternative?
I sold my car a while back and I don't plan to buy another one. I'll need to rent a car when I want to see my folks on the holidays, but renting is so expensive! Is there another option?

“Yes, there are so many other options besides getting a rental car and having to pay for costly rental car insurance.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to take advantage of services like Zipcar, Getaround, or Share Now. These carsharing companies make renting a car fast and easy, and they include insurance for the rental as well.
If these aren’t valid options for you, check with your credit card carrier—numerous credit card companies offer collision coverage insurance for your rental car. This will make the rental from a standard rental agency much cheaper. “

Should I cancel my coverage for water backup and sump overflow?
"My homeowners policy has optional coverage for water backup and sump overflow, which costs around $100 a year. Since I don't have a sump pump, would it be a good idea to cancel this coverage and pocket the money? "

What options do I have for repairing damage caused by an uninsured driver in New York?
"I was rear-ended by an uninsured driver, so there's no question of liability, but my insurance doesn’t cover uninsured motorist property damage (not available in NY). The damage is around $650. Is it worth suing the guy? Should I use my collision coverage instead? My collision deductible is $500."
