Is the Honda CR-V extended warranty worth it?

I just graduated from college and I’m interested in buying a new Honda CR-V. Is the extended warranty worth it?

Congrats on finishing school!
If you’re buying a new
Honda CR-V
the extended warranty might not be worth it.
Honda offers an extended warranty that will:
  • Cover your car for up to eight years or 120,000 miles
  • Typically cost around $1,200.
That may sound like a good deal, but you don’t want to pay for coverage you don’t need.
For new vehicles
  • Honda offers a bumper-to-bumper warranty that covers most parts and components for three years or 36,000 miles.
  • During this time, vehicle owners will also receive roadside assistance.
  • Your engine and drivetrain will also be covered by a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Our recommendation: If you want the peace of mind that an extended warranty brings, go for it. If you want to stick with your complimentary coverage, you can always buy an extended warranty later.
