Is the Ford Escape a midsize SUV?
I’m thinking about getting a midsize SUV. I’ve always been a fan of Ford, but my budget only allows me to purchase a Ford Escape at most. Is the Ford Escape technically a midsize SUV or is it smaller than that?

The Ford Escape is not an SUV, but it’s about as close as you can get without actually being one. Technically speaking, the Ford Escape is a compact SUV, but it’s on the larger end of the segment.
As such, the Ford Escape lacks a huge cargo area, doesn’t have third-row seating, and only accommodates five passengers. Still, it has 65.4 cubic feet of storage space, which makes it one of the bigger compact SUVs on the market.
