Is it safe to charge an electric car in the rain?

I’m doing a ton of research before buying my first electric car. Everything seems fairly straightforward, but I’m unsure about a few things. I know water and electricity do not mix very well. So, is it true that electric cars cannot charge in the rain?

First of all, good for you for doing proper research. Luckily for your health, electric cars being unsafe to charge in the rain is a complete myth.
In fact, carmakers go to extra trouble to ensure that cars stay safe in such situations. In almost all cases, extra waterproof shields and plug covers are added to charging stations to make sure no extra water sneaks in. That means you shouldn’t need to worry about short-circuiting, loss of power, or electrocution.
That said, as with any electricity, it’s good to keep an eye out for large bodies of water. Specifically, avoid driving into floods. If water sneaks into your car, you could be in trouble!
It’s also a good idea to make sure you’re investing in the right
