Is driving for DoorDash worth it?

The short answer—Yes, driving for DoorDash is worth it. When it comes to side hustles, or primary employment, DoorDash is a great way to make money, especially when Dashers take advantage of added perks like Peak Pay and Challenges that can drive your hourly rate well into the 20s.
As of 2022, Dashers get paid according to a set scale that includes:
- Base Pay—calculated based on time, distance, and desirability
- Promotions—Dashers earn more during Peak Pay hours and for completing orders as part of an employee challenge
