Is a Honda certified warranty transferable?

I have a pre-owned Honda with a certified warranty and am considering selling it. Will I be able to transfer the warranty?

The Honda certified pre-owned warranty can be transferred from one party to another. In doing so, the warranty does not renew, so whatever period the warranty has left is what a new owner would inherit.
A warranty is a great way to gain peace of mind when buying a
used car
. Honda has three types of warranties that they offer for pre-owned vehicles:
  • HondaTrue Certified+
  • HondaTrue Certified
  • HondaTrue Used
Although the HondaTrue Used warranty is quite limited, both HondaTrue Certified warranties are quite good. They include a limited powertrain warranty that lasts for seven years or 100,000 miles, so it’s not uncommon for people to move on from their car while the warranty is still active.
You might have an easier time selling your Honda if it’s under a transferable warranty since neither you nor the buyer will be responsible for defective parts for a while. The buyer should make sure to notify the
warranty provider
(in this case, Honda) about the sale so that they can officially take possession of it.
Once you’re done worrying about your warranty, it’s time to start thinking about your car insurance.
