How to open a 2011 Mazda 3 key fob
I need to get inside the key fob for my 2011 Mazda 3 so that I can change the batter. But there doesn’t seem to be any way to open it. Does that fob even open?

Yes! The fob does open, but there’s a bit of a trick to getting it open. It can be a bit tricky, but we’ll get you inside your fob in no time! Here’s what you’ll need to do to open a 2011
Mazda 3
key fob. - Change the key to the “out” position so that it’s pointing directly up and out of the fob.
- Using a very small screwdriver or the end of a coat hanger, insert the end of the screwdriver into the opening on the back of the fob—the same opening that the key folds in and out from.
- You should see/feel a little latch just below the key. Press that tab up and toward the key.
- The piece of the fob that holds the key should pop loose when you hit the tab correctly.
- Using your flathead screwdriver again, pry the two remaining halves of the fob apart. With the third piece already removed, the remaining haves should come away easily.
- The battery should be clearly visible once the fob is out. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one.
And you’re all set!
Now that you’re finished replacing the battery in your 2011 Mazda’s key fob, you might want to take a few minutes out of your day and go over your
