How often should I flush power steering fluid?

I always thought that the only fluids I needed to refill were oil, coolant, and washer fluid. I read my owner’s manual the other day and it mentioned power steering fluid. How often should I flush power steering fluid?

Most manufacturers recommend that you should flush power steering fluid every two to three years, or between 20,000 and 30,000 miles.
Flushing the power steering fluid is not a standard maintenance task for most cars. However, regular servicing will improve your car’s performance over its lifetime. Your owner’s manual should specify an interval for flushing the fluid based on your make and model.
If you’re noticing problems with the steering system, like stiffness in the wheel or screeching noises, feel free to flush the fluid sooner. Almost all auto shops can take care of this service for you in under an hour.
While you’re improving your knowledge about car ownership, now might be a good time to improve your
