That’s a savvy business idea! A standard car will require a 25-foot roll of 60-inch wide vinyl wrap to completely cover the vehicle.
Of course, all vehicles are slightly different.
Try this formula to calculate the right amount for your specific vehicle.
Take the length of your vehicle in feet (which you can look up online) and multiply it by three. This will give you the amount of vinyl necessary to cover the top and both sides. Then, add a little extra to cover the bumpers—and in case of mistakes. Five to fifteen feet of extra materials should cover it, and round up to the nearest roll size.
Here’s another way to estimate:
- Mid-size cars like a Honda Accord or VW Passat can be fully wrapped with 60 to 65 feet of vinyl.
- Full-size cars like small SUVs, small trucks, and small vans can be fully wrapped with 65 to 75 feet of vinyl.
- Larger vehicles like full-size SUVs, trucks, and minivans can be fully wrapped with 75 to 100 feet of vinyl.
