How much time do I have to insure my new car?

I purchased a new car yesterday. I already have car insurance, so the dealership let me drive it off the lot. However, my new car isn't on my insurance yet. How long do I have before I have to insure it?

Congrats on the
new car
! Most companies offer a 7- to 14-day grace period on new cars, meaning that the coverage on your current policy will extend to your new car within that limited time frame. Still, you’ll want to insure your new car as soon as possible.
Call your insurance company to find out how much it will cost to add your new car to your policy. If you are unhappy with the rates, you can shop around for quotes from other companies using
