How much more does it cost to add another driver to your policy?

I'm 23 and recently got my license. My boyfriend wants to add me to his policy (25 years old) so we can both use his car. Will adding me drive up the cost of insurance drastically?

“Adding another person to your
car insurance
policy is a smart move if you plan on using the same car.
As far as the expense goes, it’s different for everyone. Age and driving record play a crucial role in pricing, so if you’re a good driver, this can help. However, being under 25 puts you in a high-risk-driver category.
Interestingly, some premiums might go down when you add a driver, but this typically only applies to older drivers with more experience. Since you’re both young, you’ll most likely see an increase in the monthly premium.
That’s why you should get car insurance quotes online through the free
Jerry
app. It allows you to compare rates quickly and easily so you can get the most affordable coverage possible.”
