or a malfunctioning anti-lock brake system are causes for concern, so you must get your brakes looked at as soon as possible.On average, you can expect to spend $300 to $1,000 to fix an anti-lock brake system. Since several parts make up an anti-lock brake system, your price will vary depending on what the issue is. The cost is made up of three parts:
- A diagnostic test: $80 to $100
- Repairs: $200 to $800
- Labor: $100 to $200
In some cases, a mechanic may also opt to replace your entire anti-lock brake module to ensure your vehicle remains safe to drive, which will be a more expensive repair.
To replace your entire anti-lock brake module, you’d be looking at a price point between $500 to $1400.
Pro tip: Since it is a pricey repair, be sure to shop around with a few different shops or go with a mechanic you trust.
