How much does it cost to convert an electric stove to gas?
My parents bought me a new stove as a housewarming gift. It’s perfect, but they didn’t know that my hook-up is gas and the stove is electric. Rather than return it, I was hoping I could have it retrofitted. How much does it cost to convert an electric stove to gas?

While that is a great housewarming gift, you should try to exchange it for a gas stove. It is not possible to convert an electric stove to gas.
A gas stove uses gas and fire, while an electric stove will have one of four different heating elements: coil, radiant, solid disk, and induction. Unfortunately, there simply isn’t a way to swap one heating element out for the other.
Usually, you can get the same exact style of range in a gas model for about $150-$200 more.
