Sorry to hear that! If you take your Subaru to a Subaru dealership, they’ll tell you that the Subaru CVT replacement cost is around $7,500 and $8,600, which is extremely high compared to many other vehicle makes.
We would suggest trying to find a Subaru-friendly auto repair shop to perform the service instead—and rather than buy a replacement transmission new, try to find a used CVT that’s still in good condition. This could potentially drop the replacement cost closer to $2,500 or $3,500 and would save you a large sum of money.
Generally speaking, however, the cost to replace your Subaru’s CVT will largely depend on the vehicle model, the model year, submodel/style, and the mechanic who performs the service.
