How many times can you take driving school?
I got a speeding ticket but I can choose to go to driving school to dismiss the citation. Is there a limit to how many times I can take driving school?

What a great opportunity to dismiss your citation!
The number of times you can take driving school (aka traffic school) will depend on your state’s rules. In most states, you can take the course once every 12-24 months.
For example, in Florida, you can choose to attend driving school once in a 12-month period, no more than five times in a lifetime.
It should be noted that you may not be eligible for driving school for every traffic ticket. Here are some reasons you wouldn’t be able to attend driving school to dismiss your ticket:
- Severity of the violation: Severe violations (e.g., DUI/DWI)
- Exceeding certain speeds: Driving grossly over the posted speed limit (e.g., 25 mph+)
- Repeat offender: Drivers who are repeat offenders will not have the privilege to dismiss their ticket
- Suspended license: Drivers whose license has been suspended most likely will not be eligible
In states without a ticket dismissal program, taking driving school will not remove the citation from your record but will help reduce the number of points added to your license.
