How many points before your license is suspended in Kentucky?

Can you lose your license for getting too many points on your record? I just got my real license and I’m not sure how worried I should be about getting a speeding ticket.

For drivers over 18, getting 12 points within two years is enough to have your license suspended in
Kentucky
. If you’re still under 18, however, you can have your license suspended if you accumulate seven points or more within a two-year period.
For reference, a speeding ticket is usually worth three points in the state of Kentucky, although the charge can be upped to six points if you were driving very recklessly. As such, it’s a good idea to be wary of speeding tickets, at least until you turn 18!
Driving points on your record will also typically increase your car insurance rates. Check out
