A sound deadener will kill some of that noise and improve your everyday drive, but just how do the brands Dynamat vs. Kilmat compare? Both are sound deadener devices made from the same butyl rubber you find inside tires and basketballs—but Dynamat products tend to feature higher-quality backing and do a better job overall of canceling out noise. Let’s take a closer look at each:
- Dynamat: Generally of higher quality, Dynamat deadeners feature aluminum backing and deaden three decibels of noise, making your music and phone sound twice as loud. You’ll pay the price, though—Dynamat car deadeners are available on Amazon starting at $170.
- Kilmat: By comparison, Kilmat doesn’t cancel quite as much noise, and its more primitive foil backing can’t compete with Dynamat’s aluminum. That being said, it’ll still reduce extra noise and improve your driving experience—and it’ll do it for over $100 less than Dynamat! Kilmat car deadeners start on Amazon at just $61.
