Are U-turns legal in Alabama?

I’m taking a trip to Alabama in a few weeks, but I want to make sure I have a decent grasp of all the statewide driving laws. Can I make a U-turn while I’m there?

Alabama
is a great place to visit for beaches, scenery, cuisine, and history. Thankfully, the state doesn’t have any weird driving laws, either. U-turns are legal in Alabama, provided you’re in the left-most lane and no sign prohibits it.
However, it's always important to remember to execute your U-turns safely, and carefully to avoid a potential car accident.
In the event an accident occurs, make sure your vehicle is equipped with at least the
state minimum insurance requirements
