Getting your license as a teenager is the most freedom you’ll get until you turn 18. So if you want to ace your driving exam the first time around, you should take at least 45 hours of driving lessons before your test, or whatever is mandated by your state’s motor vehicle department.
The required amount of time behind the wheel varies by state. Most states only require you to have six or eight one-hour lessons with a certified instructor accompanied by 20 to 25 hours with a licensed driver.
But like anything else, practice makes perfect. The more driving experience you get, the more likely that you can pass your driving test without issue.
Once you get your license, remember you’ll need car insurance to drive legally. Insurance for teens is notoriously expensive, so the more you shop around on the Jerry app, the more money you can save!
