How many cylinders does a Dodge Journey have?
I’m buying a 2018 Dodge Journey from my friend. He swears up and down that it has a V6 engine in it, but I thought they were just a four-cylinder affair? I don’t really care either way, as I’ll just be using it to haul my dogs around town. But I am a little curious—how many cylinders does a Dodge Journey have?

Tell your dogs we said hi! The Dodge Journey had four cylinders for the 2020 model year and the option of a four or six-cylinder engine on all of the earlier model years.
So if the Dodge Journey you’re buying is a 2018, it’s entirely possible that it has a V6 under the hood.
The inline four-cylinder setup on the Journey has an
engine displacement
of 2.7 liters and generates 173 horsepower. The upgraded 3.6-liter V6 engine will get you a much larger 283 horsepower experience, but decreased fuel economy. View full answer
