How long does it take to start driving?

I just turned 17, and I haven’t even wanted to drive until now because it terrifies me. But all of a sudden, I’ve started to feel more confident about my abilities. If I started a course now, how long would it take for me to start driving?

Driving can give you the freedom and excitement that few other things can! To answer your question, it takes roughly 80 hours to start driving if you include state-mandated and suggested coursework and driving lessons. This allows you to build confidence and become a
safer driver
.
Although the requirements vary by state, most states want you to complete the following:
  • Six one-hour lessons with a certified driving instructor (mandatory)
  • 30 hours of coursework (mandatory)
  • 45 hours of driving experience with a friend or family member (recommended but not mandatory)
If you want to complete the process more quickly, you might want to consider an intensive driving class, which allows you to complete most of your coursework and state-mandated driving lessons in about two weeks.
With the instruction you receive, hopefully, you can pass your written exam and road test. While the excitement is sure to get the better of you, just remember that you still need car insurance to legally drive. That’s when you should download the
