How long does it take to get insurance on a new car?

I purchased a new vehicle this morning, but have yet to get it insured. I want to get on the road as soon as possible! How long does it take to get insurance on a new car?

Congrats on the new car, and great question! It is best to get your new car insured as quickly as possible, and the process should be relatively simple!
If you already have an insurance policy, you will most likely have a grace period to get your new car insured. The grace period will usually last between a few days to a month.
If you’re adding a car to your policy, however, the grace period will be shorter—probably around two to four days. If you’re replacing the car covered by your policy, a grace period between a week to an entire month.
If you’re looking to get an entirely new policy quickly and easily, check out the Jerry app. We’ll get you customized quotes from top-of-the-line providers, so that all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you! And once you choose, we’ll even help you switch over.
Congrats again, and enjoy your new ride!
