How long do car scents last?

I bought an air freshener for my car, but I'm not sure when I should buy a replacement. How long do car scents last on average?

It better smell good, because car fragrance refills last about 4 to 6 weeks! However, some factors can affect how long the scent lasts.
Some of the conditions that affect how long your air freshener releases a scent into your vehicle are out of your control, like:
  • High altitudes
  • Extreme temperature changes
  • Consistent use of your vehicle’s climate control
If you’re using liquid air fresheners, most car scents will still have liquid in the fragrance capsule even if the scent has worn off, making it tricky to know when it’s time to replace. I’d say it’s safe to replace every four weeks to keep your car smelling fresh.
