How does Root car insurance work?
One of my friends recently told me about Root, and how he saves about 50% over what he was paying on car insurance before. How does it work?

“Founded in 2015, Root offers a tech-based approach to
car insurance
. However, you have to qualify to take advantage of their lower rates.Qualification involves downloading the Root app for a driving test. Once you install the app, it runs in the background so you don’t have to open it. Then, you drive like you normally would for a period of two to three weeks.
At the end of this period, Root assesses your driving based on speeds, braking time, and acceleration. If you pass the test, you may be given a rate that’s lower than the premiums offered by some of the big names in car insurance. “
