How do you use a car electric blanket?
I absolutely love my electric blanket at home for the winter, but this year the family is going on a cross-country road trip. I know my blanket won’t work in the car, but I’ve heard that car electric blankets exist! Can you tell me how to use a car electric blanket?

A heated car blanket is an excellent companion on long winter road trips! In extremely low temps, your car heater just won’t cut it. It’s also a smart idea to have them in your car anyways, in case your vehicle breaks down and you’re waiting for roadside assistance.
**Here’s what we know about using car electric blankets: **
- When choosing a blanket make sure you select one with different heat settings and automatic power shut off. This prevents the blanket from becoming overheated and potentially causing burns and hazards.
- Make sure your blanket also has an LED light or indicator so you know if the blanket is on, off and if it’s working properly. It’s especially handy if your blanket lacks a display screen.
- Consider the voltage type. Most heated car blankets that fit into your car’s outlet are 12-volts or are compatible with the lighter socket. 24 volt heated car blankets are available as well.
- Most electric car blankets will come with a cord that’s at least six feet long. This is important to take into account, especially if it will be used by backseat passengers.
- Comfort is key. You’ll be **able to find **blanket options in various types of materials such as sherpa, microfiber polyester, and fleece.
