How do you transfer car insurance from one person to another?

My son just turned 18. We agreed when he became an adult; he’d take over his insurance. How do I transfer it to his name?

Turning 18 and getting your own
car insurance
is a big step!
As long as he owns his car or you’re planning on transferring ownership to him, he’ll be able to insure it
That said, you can’t transfer the car’s current policy to him. Since car insurance companies rate policies based on personal factors and your son is a young driver, the cost to insure the car will likely increase.
To determine how much his insurance will cost: He’ll need to request a
car insurance quote
from your current company. By doing this, the insurance company can rate a policy based on his driving record and information, instead of using yours.
Even if your current company offers a great price, it’s worth
