How do you report someone for texting and driving?

Is there a way to report someone if I see them texting and driving? There’s someone who I see on the road near my apartment all the time and he’s always on his phone. I’ve seen him almost hit someone a couple of different times, so I want to report him before he gets into an accident!

That sounds really scary! If you see someone texting and driving and you believe that they’re endangering those around them, your best bet is to call 911. It will help a lot if you can give the operator the car’s license plate number as well as details about the car itself.
If you know the person that you’re talking about by name, you can also report him to the DMV. You’ll need to provide his full name and information about his vehicle to report him this way, so this might not work for you if you don’t know who he is.
Depending on your state’s
texting and driving laws
, however, reporting him to the DMV will get him into trouble and, hopefully, discourage that kind of behavior in the future.
