How do you renew a driver’s license in South Dakota?

What is the driver's license renewal process like in South Dakota? I’m getting ready to renew mine for the first time and I’m not sure what to expect.

You can renew your driver’s license in
South Dakota
online. You’ll need to visit the SD DPS website and provide:
  • Your driver’s license/ID card number
  • Your date of birth
  • The last four digits of your Social Security number
If you prefer, you can also renew your license in person by visiting the nearest Department of Public Services office. You’ll need to provide your old license and one additional form of proof of identity, like your passport, to renew your license successfully.
If your license has been expired for more than 30 days, you must renew in person. If you’re over the age of 65, you’ll also need to provide a vision statement form.
Renewing your driver’s license usually isn’t too complicated, and updating your
car insurance
policy shouldn’t be, either. The
Jerry
app curates customized rates in seconds and helps you handle everything to switch to your new, more affordable policy. The average user saves over $800 per year!
