photo, or through a Pay Toll Now account.Most toll roads in New York are based on electronic payment, but you can reload your E-ZPass card with cash. Here’s a rundown of all the ways pay for toll roads in New York:

E-ZPass pay-per-trip | Link your E-ZPass to your bank checking account to pay for tolls as you use them. |
E-ZPass pay with cash | Enjoy the savings from an E-ZPass by purchasing and registering an E-ZPass tag, and refill your balance as you require with a reload card. |
Tolls by mail | Have your toll bills mailed to you based on your license plate and vehicle registration , then pay by mail, in person, or over the phone. |
Pay Toll Now account | Use your license plate and credit card to register for an account that allows you to pay tolls as you pass through them. |
Keep in mind: An E-ZPass is the cheaper option. While you’ll have to pay $25 or $30 up front for a tag, this money is added to your account to use on the toll roads—and you’ll even save 30% on fees. Paying with cash or by mail is more expensive per trip.
