I just got a 2013 Nissan Altima used and have no idea where the fuel door release latch is. How do you open the gas tank on Nissan Altima 2013?

The 2013 Nissan Altima gas tank release latch is in an unusual spot on the lower-left side of the steering wheel, right next to the hood release lever. Once you’ve located the fuel release lever, you can open the gas tank on your 2013 Nissan Altima by following these steps:
- Turn off the engine
- Pull the lever toward you
- Exit the vehicle and locate the opened fuel door
- Twist the gas cap off by turning it counterclockwise
Once the gas cap is off, you can begin refueling your 2013 Nissan Altima! Just make sure to choose the best gasoline for your model. The Nissan Altima takes regular grade 87 octane fuel which is much less expensive than premium gasoline. And with an EPA rating of 27 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, the 2013 Nissan Altima is fairly fuel efficient so you won’t have to visit the gas station all too often.
