How do you open the gas tank of a Honda CRV?

I recently bought a Honda CRV but it’s my first car, so I’m still unsure of how everything works. I don’t want to be clueless when I get to the gas station. Where is the gas tank button?

Congrats on your first car! We’ve all been there, so don’t worry. To open the gas tank of a
Honda CR-V
, all you have to do is turn off your engine and pull on the fuel door handle on the driver’s left lower side of the dashboard. Once you hear the fuel door pop open, you’re ready to fuel up!
You will not be able to open your fuel door if your engine is on, so make sure to be parked at the nearest pump and to turn your engine off before pulling on the fuel door handle.
If you’re using a portable gas container instead, make sure you’re outdoors with a funnel and rag on hand. Gas is highly flammable, so you’ll want to use a funnel to avoid spilling gas on other parts of your vehicle. For the same reason, it’s also useful to have a rag at arm’s reach in case any spills occur on you—the last thing you want is a rash!
Visits to the pump are getting more and more expensive. To avoid frequent fuel fill-ups, here are some quick
tips for saving money on gas
:
  • Avoid idling to conserve gas.
  • Refrain from abrupt braking and accelerating as doing so impacts your fuel economy.
  • Keep up with your Honda’s
    car maintenance schedule
    to prevent costly repairs.
