It sounds as if what you want to do is adjust the crossbars on your
Ford Escape’s
roof rack. Here’s how:- Begin by loosening the thumbwheels on either end of the crossbar you want to adjust.
- Now, you should be able to slide the crossbar into the position you need it to be in.
- Tighten the thumbwheels back up so that the crossbar remains in place.
Important notes: Ford recommends that you do not carry a load any heavier than 100 pounds and that you evenly distribute this weight across the crossbars. If you need to carry something heavier, you may need to look into other options.
