How do you fix an oil leak in an engine block?

My engine block is leaking oil. It’s not too severe, so I’d like to treat the issue without going to a mechanic yet. How do you fix an oil leak in an engine block?

How to fix an oil leak in an engine block depends on the cause of the leak and its severity. A faulty gasket is one of the most common causes.
If your oil leak is minor, you can try applying an engine block sealer, which you can find at your local auto parts store.
Follow the directions on the bottle closely and you should be able to seal any small gaps or cracks.
This won’t be a permanent fix, however—continue to keep an eye on the leak to see if it persists, or if any other problems arise. If they do, you will want to have a mechanic take a look to avoid more severe damage to your engine block or other parts later on.
While you’re taking care of your car’s maintenance, consider revisiting your car insurance policy and making sure it’s still working for you. If you think your policy needs a fine-tuning,
