Not having a properly working key is a pain! Here’s how to change your fob’s battery:
  • Press and slide the button that releases the metal key.
  • Once done, remove the key.
  • Now, you can use the key or a flathead screwdriver to pry the key fob open.
  • When it’s open, make sure you press your thumb down right above where the battery is to hold the fob together. This is so the interior and exterior contents don’t fall out.
  • Then, you can remove the dead battery. Make sure to take note of the negative and positive sides.
  • Do not touch the terminals on the new battery as the oils on your skin can cause corrosion, which shortens the battery’s life.
  • Now, you can insert the new battery. Use the positive and negative marks inside the key fob as a guide.
  • Lastly, align the two halves of the key fob.
From there, gently apply pressure until they snap back together and your key is ready to go!
