How do I use a Honda touch-up paint pen?

I backed up against a bush and scratched the paint on my bumper. I got a touch-up pen to fix the bumper myself. What’s the best way to touch up a scratch with a paint pen?

Accidents happen—which is why
Honda
sells paint pens! Here’s how to use a Honda touch-up paint pen to repair a scratch:
  1. Start by washing the damaged area with soap and water to remove dirt. Dry your car, then tape around the area you plan to work on using masking tape.
  2. Begin applying the first coat of touch-up paint using the pen tip. Apply the paint in a uniform motion along the entire surface length of the scratch or scuff.
  3. Wait 10–20 minutes, then apply a second coat to ensure the paint depth matches the surrounding areas of the bumper. A third coat may also be necessary.
  4. Allow the paint to dry overnight, then apply two layers of clear coat using the felt tip on the other end of the paint pen. Again, wait 10-20 minutes between coats.
Just like that, you’ve fixed the scratches on your vehicle using a Honda touch-up paint pen!
