How do you program a 2010 Toyota Corolla key fob?

I recently ordered an extra key fob for my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE but it doesn’t seem to be connecting to the car. How do you program a key fob to work properly?

It’s always a good idea to have an extra set of keys around, whether you choose to leave them in the house or entrust them to a friend or family member. But before they can be of any use, you’ll have to make sure that they are properly programmed.
To program a 2010
Toyota Corolla
key fob, follow these simple instructions:
  1. Enter programming mode by opening your car door, closing the door, then opening it again.
  2. Put the key in the ignition and close the door.
  3. Turn the key once to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
  4. Turn the car off and you should now be able to add a new remote.
  5. Remove your key from the ignition.
  6. Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob for two seconds, then let them go.
  7. Do this twice and your key fob should be programmed.
Note that if you got your new key fob from an auto locksmith or dealership, it should already be programmed. If it is not, reach out to them.
Now that your Toyota key fob is properly programmed, you can always be sure that you’re covered in case of a lockout. And speaking of coverage, be sure to take a moment and check out the
