How do I reset the oil life on a 2008 Honda Accord?

For some reason, the oil life on my 2008 Honda Accord reads 10% even after I got an oil change last week. Is there a way to reset the oil life on my Accord?

Kudos on getting regular oil changes! The good news is that returning the oil life readout to 100% is super simple.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to reset the oil life on a 2008
Honda Accord
:
  • Turn your key to the on position, which is signified by II (the Roman numeral two) on the ignition. Don’t start the car.
  • On the instrument panel near your odometer, look for your trip button on the right-hand side.
  • Once you locate the trip button, use it to select oil life.
  • Press and hold the trip button until the oil life flashes, which takes about 10 seconds.
  • Once the oil life flashes, release the button.
  • Immediately press and hold the button again until the oil life reads 100%, which takes around 5 seconds.
With just a minute of your time, you can ensure that your actual oil life is represented on your instrument panel. Interestingly enough, you can also save tons of money on your car insurance in about a minute by using the
