How do I reset the oil change light on a Ford Focus?
I just got an oil change on my Ford Focus, but annoyingly, the oil change light remains on. I’ve just been putting a piece of tape over it, but I’m fairly certain that there’s a way to turn it off. How can I reset the Ford Focus oil change light?

This just means that the mechanic forgot to reset it, but you can do it yourself. Here’s how to reset the oil change light on a Ford Focus:
- Turn the key to the on position, but don’t start the engine.
- Hold the brake pedal and accelerator pedals to the floor.
- You should see a graphic on the instrument cluster that reads oil reset in prog.
- Keep holding the pedals until the instrument cluster reads “oil reset complete.”
