How do I put a 2013 BMW 528i in neutral?

There’s a 2013 BMW 528i that’s been blocking our alleyway for a few days. Turns out, it belongs to someone staying over at our neighbor’s, but apparently it won’t start. We said we could put it in neutral to push it down the street so it’s not blocking the alley—what do we need to do?

It may be a little more work to put the 2013
BMW 528i
in neutral than it’s worth. You’ll have to manually access the override switch underneath the vehicle. If one of you is handy and feels comfortable doing some work, here’s how you can put the BMW in neutral:
  1. Raise the car using a car jack
  2. Get under the car and unscrew the panel covering the transmission
  3. There should be a metal lever on the side of the transmission with a screw under it. Tighten the screw all the way to push the lever up
  4. Once the lever is secured, the BMW should shift into neutral
If you don’t feel comfortable performing this task, leave it to the professionals.
Once you successfully clear the BMW from in front of your alleyway, take a minute to update your
car insurance
so that you won’t be stuck without towing and labor coverage like your neighbor’s friend. The easiest way is by using
