How do you put a BMW M6 in park?

I know this question seems silly, but I just bought this car and the controls are super confusing! There doesn’t seem to be a park option. Where is park on a BMW M6 gearshift?

You’re not the only person that’s been confused by this—so no worries! To put your
BMW M6
 in park, you’ll need to:
  • First, apply the hand brake.
  • Then, move the gearshift into a drive position.
  • Finally, turn off your car by pressing the START/STOP button once.
You may see a warning signal, but it should be replaced by a P on your display to indicate that the vehicle is indeed in park.
I realize that this sounds counterintuitive! The reason the gearshift functions this way is to mimic a completely manual car. However, if you see persistent warnings on your dash that won’t go away, contact your dealer to ask about the issue.
