How do I open my Chevrolet Volt hood?

Uh-oh, that’s an important problem to investigate! First, make sure your
Chevrolet Volt
is off—if you have it on while you open the hood, it will start the engine. To open your 2017
Chevrolet
Volt hood, you’ll need to locate the hood release handle, which has a symbol of a car with its hood open on it. You’ll find it on the lower left side of the instrument panel or to the left of your steering wheel near the floor and your driver side door.Pull the release handle, then walk to the front end of your vehicle to locate a second hood release lever. You’ll find it just under the front end of your hood, near the center, but a little more to the left (the passenger side). Once you find the lever, slide it to the right (toward the driver’s side) to release it.
Once you release both levers, you can open your hood.
You’ll find the kickstand that props open your hood, which you’ll find just in front of you (above the radiator support). Lift it and insert it into the proper slot on the underside of your hood to keep it propped open while you’re taking a look around inside.
