How do I lower my car insurance?

Is there an easy way to lower your car insurance? I'm a pretty new driver (I'm in my sophomore year of college right now), and my insurance is crazy-expensive. I’d like to do what I can to bring down my premium.

“Unfortunately, young drivers under the age of 25 will almost always have higher rates. Since they’re still untested on the road, insurance companies consider them higher risks than older people with more substantial driving histories.
That being said, here are a few ways you can lower your premium:
  • Drive an affordable car: Some cars are
    cheaper to insure
than others, so you could lower your rates by picking a more affordable car.
  • Raise your deductible: Agreeing to pay more in the case of an accident can lower your monthly rate, but it also puts you at risk in the case of an accident—so it might not be your best solution.
  • Drive less: Some insurers may offer lower rates for drivers who
travel less than 50 miles a day
    .
  • Ask your provider about discounts: You can save a substantial amount in discounts by taking simple steps like signing up for safe driving courses, tracking your driving, or even maintaining a high GPA!
