How do I get an uncooperative neighbor's insurance details?

"My neighbor's dog bit my daughter. I want to file a claim on his insurance, but he refuses to tell me who his carrier is. How do I get his insurance details?

“I am so sorry to hear that your daughter was bitten; I hope she is okay. If your neighbor is unwilling to provide their insurance information, it may be time to consult an attorney. A legal professional, in pursuing the responsible party, would demand the other party’s insurance information.
If the other party is unwilling to provide that information or is uninsured, the attorney may advise pursuing the responsible party directly. You can also file a police report; in fact, you may be required to do so by your carrier. “
